About
I’m a PhD candidate at the American University School of Communication. Right now, I’m actively writing my dissertation on the political economy of far right media and am engaged on other research projects. I also teach the introductory Understanding Media class for AU undergrads as an adjunct instructor.
Before academia, I spent nearly two decades in industry; law for seven years and, more recently, in marketing and communications as an executive ghostwriter and strategist for organizations in tech, telecom, PR, and philanthropy. In the middle of all that, I also snagged my masters degree in digital media communications from the University of Washington. I also hold a masters degree in media, technology, and democracy from AU.
In my spare time, I have chaired the community advisory board for Cascade Public Media in Seattle, contributed mallet percussion skills to a community rock orchestra in Seattle, and now find myself taking on even more educational activity as a room parent for my kiddos’ preschool.
I’ve also written or contributed to a few things recently, with more on the way in ‘25-’26.
